Imaginary Landscape has announced its sponsorship of the PyCon 2008 conference being held in Chicago March 13-20 at the Crowne Plaza Chicago O’Hare. Imaginary joins an elite grouping of sponsors that include Google, Sun, Lucasfilm and Rackspace – all significant users of the Python programming language.

“It was a great crowd. Everyone was nice and inquisitive and genuinely interested in our booth,” said Brian Moloney managing partner for Imaginary Landscape. “The organizers were all volunteer and they put on a fantastic conference.

Imaginary Landscape uses Python as its primary programming language for Web site applications. Python is open-source which allows for significant collaboration on its development.It is a sophisticated programming language which easily handles even the most complex Web-based applications.

Prior to the conference, the Python Software Foundation which organizes the PyCon conference tapped Imaginary Landscape for assistance on the PyCon Web site.On top of the Web site assistance, Imaginary also released an open source software application called Job Board which is being utilized on the PyCon site.
