New record uptime for server
Oct. 1, 2002 - Imaginary Landscape managed server WS1 set an uptime
record of 434 days today. The uptime measurement is number of days
without a reboot.
"We could have gone longer, but we wanted to add some enhancements to the operating system which required a reboot," said Ken Stox, technology partner. Imaginary Landscape staff added the enhancements and executed a scheduled reboot at one a.m.
WS1 runs the UNIX-derivative operating system FreeBSD, along with Apache Web server.
